The Seagullby Anton ChekhovThis one’s going to be something special: a lyrical, unrequited love story brimming with characters wildly passionate and more than a little kooky! Chekhov is the master of exposing that uniquely human ability to possess two powerful and contradictory feelings at exactly the same time. The result is equal parts romantic, hilarious and tragic with heart-stopping moments of exquisite honesty. Reserve tickets online or call 402.826.8256. |

Stupid F##king Birdby Aaron PosnerThe question Aaron Posner keeps asking in his adaptation of Chekhov’s portrait-of-the-artist-as-a-young-man soap opera “The Seagull” is why: Why do people even produce plays in the 21st century? Why don’t we just stop making new stuff and take a few years to consider all the stuff that’s already been made? Why are we even in a theatre watching someone ask these questions? One glib answer is this: Maybe if theatre stopped talking about itself all the time, people would start caring a little more. Or maybe laughter is enough! STUPID F##KING BIRD contains adult content and strong language.

The Robber BridegroomBook and Lyrics by Alfre UhryMusic by Robert WaldmanBased on the short story by beloved writer Eudora Welty, “The Robber Bridegroom” is the Southern-fried Robin Hood tale of Jamie Lockhart, a dangerous, handsome, backwoods rogue who’s a gentleman by day and bandit by night. When he falls for the beautiful daughter of a wealthy planter, his world and code of ethics are turned upside down. It’s a lean, hilarious, intelligent book with a hard-working bluegrass score. Who could ask for more than that? Reserve tickets online or call 402.826.8256. |
