President's Office
Welcome to Doane!
This "College on a Hill" has come a long way since its founding in 1872. Yet, we are still very much a young university in spirit and purpose.
As Doane's founding President David Brainerd Perry once wrote, "the college should be a place that prepares young people 'for the work of life.'" He was right in 1872 and he will still be right in 2072.
We strive to be a model of academic excellence defined by the opportunities and challenges that students face in the 21st century. Doane is a distinctive place, a college that was born in the liberal arts tradition and raised in the nation's heartland. We know that every generation faces a new frontier. We provide students the skills and knowledge they need today and in the future.
Doane is a community. Our faculty and staff work closely with undergraduate and graduate students preparing them for lives rooted in intellectual inquiry, ethical values and a commitment to engage as leaders and responsible citizens in the world.
It's a pleasure and a privilege to be Doane University's 12th president!
