Sanchez ’74 appointed to serve on Panama Canal Board of Directors

Doane University graduate and Board of Trustees member Enrique Sanchez ’74 received a very prestigious honor recently as he was appointed to serve on the Panama Canal Board of Directors by the President of the Republic of Panama, Laurentino Cortizo. Sanchez was a third-generation worker on the canal, working on the artificial waterway for 38 years.

Bates ’20 receives rare internship opportunity at Denali National Park

Jackson Bates, a senior studying biology and environmental sciences at Doane, spent his summer conducting research at Denali National Park in Alaska for a graduate student at the University of Montana. Bates was conducting research to understand how five alpine animal species in the park are responding to climate change.
