Jennifer L. McNally
Class of '06, Master of Counseling
Lincoln, Jennifer was a featured speaker at Doane’s Diverse Perspectives Speakers Series. McNally was an interactive speaker and focused her address on the importance of self-care and how to coach your brain to be a mental powerhouse. McNally is a mental health program coordinator for ESU-6.
LaDawn Capek Sperling
Class of '94, College of Arts and Sciences
Lakewood, Colo.  Earlier this year, Governor Polis appointed LaDawn to the Colorado Housing Board to represent Congressional District 7. Sperling has been participating in meetings since February, although appointment is now more official with the approval of a Senate committee.Â
Sperling shared that she has enjoyed her appointment as it connects her work in real estate with the community work she performs to help those in need.

Class of '00, Master of Education
Auburn, Jim coached the Auburn High School Boys Basketball team to their 2nd consecutive C-1 State title with a 58-34 victory over Ogallala during the Boys State Basketball Tournament in March.
Philip A. Goddard
Class of '09, Master of Education
Lincoln, Philip was the May recipient of Channel 10/11 Golden Apple Award. Philip is a Band Instructor at Milford Public Schools. Â
Kayla A. Belden
Class of '12, Master of Education
Lincoln, Kayla received the March Golden Apple Award from Channel 10/11. Belden is a Special Education Teacher from Southeast High School. She was nominated for her leadership and filling in when her department chair was out on medical leave, as well as her working through the challenges of remote learning. Â
Stevie R. Reed
Class of '13, Master of Education
North Platte, Stevie has received the North Platte Public Schools (NPPS) Bulldog Staff award for May. Stevie was selected for fun, engaging and caring classroom as well as the many roles she has filled for NPPS.
Katie L. Meyer
Class of '19, College of Arts and Sciences
Sterling, Katie was accepted into UNL's Sociology Ph.D. program beginning in the fall of 2020.
Jim J. Weeks

Class of '00, Master of Education

Craig E. Wiles
Class of '07, Master of Education
Papillion, Craig is the recipient of the 2020 Alice Buffet Outstanding Teaching Award presented by Omaha Public Schools. The award, handed out each year since 1988, goes to OPS nominees with at least two years of teaching experience. The award is named for an aunt of Omaha investor Warren Buffett who taught high school home economics in OPS for more than 35 years. Awardees are nominated by colleagues, students and parents. Wiles is a 5th grade teacher at Crestridge Elementary and has taught for Omaha public schools for 20 years.

Steven W. Grosz ’84, Lincoln, will be posthumously inducted into the Class of 2020 Doane University Hall of Fame on March 27, 2020.
