Joann Snitily Couton

Class of '74, College of Arts and Sciences

Joann Snitily Couton ’74, Wahoo, was the recipient of the Platt Music Award at the 2019 Doane Homecoming Alumni Banquet.  The Platt Music Award is presented to a Doane graduate for outstanding achievement in music.

Marjorie I. Daley

Class of '87, College of Arts and Sciences

Marjorie I. Daley  ’87, Laramie, Wyo. published “The Ultimate Guide to Wild Canines, Primitive Dogs, and Pariah Dog.”

Gary L. Parsons

Class of '57, College of Arts and Sciences

Gary L. Parsons ’57, Sonora, Calif. has served as the game announcer for the Sonora High School Wildcat Football team for 56 years. Parsons began his announcing career as a Doane student in the fall of 1953 at Doane. At 84, Parsons has decided this will be his last season.

 

Douglas J. Estrada

Class of '89, College of Arts and Sciences

Douglas J. Estrada ’89, Bentonville, Ark. was the recipient of the Honor D Award at the 2019 Doane Homecoming Alumni Banquet.  The Honor D Award is presented to a former Doane Athlete who has distinguished themselves by outstanding service in their life’s work.

Dr. Bruce Sheffield

Class of '69, College of Arts and Sciences

Dr. Bruce Sheffied ’69, Raymond, and his wife Margaret were the recipients of the Builder Award at the 2019 Doane Homecoming Alumni Banquet. The Doane Builder Award is presented to alumni who have distinguished themselves and Doane through outstanding achievement, professional accomplishments, community service and their relationship with the college. This is considered the highest award an alumnus of the college can receive.

Otieno Paulvince Obuon  ’08, ’11E, ’19DE, Crete, was the recipient of the Young Alumni Award at the 2019 Doane Homecoming Alumni Banquet. Paulvince has demonstrated outstanding service inside and outside of the classroom. His selflessness is seen at every turn, playing a large role in shaping the man he is today.

G. Garrett Shadbolt

G. Garrett Shadbolt ’19, Merriman, was the first round leader at the Buffalo Bill Rodeo in North Platte on June 13th.

William J. Kerber

Class of '76, College of Arts and Sciences

William J. Kerber ’76, Willowbrook, Ill. was the recipient of the Exceptional Service Award at the 2019 Doane Homecoming Alumni Banquet.  Bill Kerber has led a lifetime of service to young athletes. He embodies the community spirit of Doane and the ruggedness of its athletic programs.
