Nikki Scism Piper

Class of '08, College of Arts and Sciences

Class of '12, Master of Education

Nikki and her spouse, Ben, welcomed their daughter, Maelee Margaret on July 8th.  She joins siblings Brynlee and Ryker.  Nikki is an Instructor of Practice in Education at Doane and is working toward her Ed.D.

Stevie R. Reed

Class of '13, Master of Education

North Platte, Stevie has received the North Platte Public Schools (NPPS) Bulldog Staff award for May.  Stevie was selected for fun, engaging and caring classroom as well as the many roles she has filled for NPPS.

Sarah Schaeef Sell

Class of '15, Master of Education

Grand Island,  Sarah has been appointed as assistant principal at Crete Elementary School.  Her appointment will begin July 1.

Kayla M. Hansen

Class of '16, Master of Education

Kayla M. Hansen, Omaha, and Joseph Stava were married on March 14, 2020.

Trisha Fanning Lind

Class of '05, College of Arts and Sciences

Class of '11, Master of Education

Lincoln, Trisha  will be serving as vice principal for Lincoln Public Schools at Park Middle School effective July 1st.  Trisha is married to Dustin A. Lind  ’08.  Dustin is an investigator for Lincoln Police Department serving in the gangs unit.  Lind is a member of Safe Streets Task Force (SSTF) and is serving in his 12th year of employment with the department.

Craig E. Wiles

Class of '07, Master of Education

Papillion, Craig is the recipient of the 2020 Alice Buffet Outstanding Teaching Award presented by Omaha Public  Schools.  The award, handed out each year since 1988, goes to OPS nominees with at least two years of teaching experience. The award is named for an aunt of Omaha investor Warren Buffett who taught high school home economics in OPS for more than 35 years.  Awardees are nominated by colleagues, students and parents.  Wiles is a 5th grade teacher at Crestridge Elementary and has taught for Omaha public schools for 20 years.

Jerry J. Green

Class of '18, Master of Education

Jerry J. Green ’18E, Fort Calhoun, has been appointed as superintendent of Fort Calhoun Community Schools effective on July 1.  Green is currently principal with FCCS.  

Mitchell K. Bartholomew

Class of '04, Master of Education

Mitchell K. Bartholomew ’04E, York, was elected as a board member for York General Hospital.  Bartholomew is now serving as the district superintendent for York Public Schools.

Kimberly S. Hudson

Class of '04, Master of Education

Kimberly S. Hudson ’04E, ’10E, Ceresco, was awarded the 10/11 January Golden Apple Award .  Hudson, is a 2nd grade teacher at Ceresco Elementary School.  Hudson is seen as a “teacher who pours her heart and soul into her students, the school, her district, the community, you know that person just needs to be recognized.”
