Alumni Awards

Doane has established numerous awards to recognize alumni and friends of the university for their professional accomplishments, outstanding achievements, community service, leadership and continued relations with the university.  The Alumni Awards Ceremony will take place in Perry Campus Center on Sunday, October 8th at noon.  This event is open to all alumni and reservations should be made by September 20th.  Nominate future award recipients here

  • Paul Kersenbrock Humanitarian Award:  Holly Bedient Parsley '93
    Given in the memory of Paul Dean Kersenbrock '63, and will be presented to a worthy Doane alumnus, who in the judgment of the Alumni Council distinguishes himself or herself by extraordinary, unselfish dedication and service to others in his/her work and lifestyle.
     
  • Exceptional Service Award: Kealyn O'Rourke Lutt '10L, '13A
    Recognizes an alumnus or alumni who has or have provided extraordinary service to forward the cause of Doane University through his or her volunteer efforts.
     
  • Young Alumni Award: Taylor Siebert '07
    Honors Doane graduates who are 35 years of age or younger for demonstration of and lasting commitment to the highest ideals and models of excellence exemplified by Doane University
     
  • Platt Music Award: Erinn Beck Machacek '97, '02E
    Presented to alumni for outstanding achievement in music.  Recipient is selected by the music department. 
     
  • Honor D Award: Ken Hambleton '72 and Timothy Billiar '79
    Presented to former Doane athletes who have distinguished themselves by outstanding service in their life's work.
     
  • President's Award for Leadership: Marian Andersen
    Presented to alumni and friends of the university who have shown extraordinary service and leadership in their communities.
     
  • Doane Builder Award: Steven '96A and Minna VanBockern '80 Rasmussen
    Presented to alumni who have distinguished themselves and Doane through outstanding achievement, professional accomplishments, community service and their relationship with the university.  This is considered the highest award an alumnus of the university can receive.
