Homecoming is a special time on the Doane campus, as many alumni return to enjoy a weekend of events, including this concert. The concert features performances by Doane Choir, Collegiate Chorale, and the Doane Concert Band. This year, we will be celebrating Dr. Jay Gilbert's 25 years of teaching at Doane with an Alumni Band that will perform at the Homecoming Concert. MUSIC VISIT DAY-MUSIC EDUCATION FORUM
We invite all high school students & their parents to visit campus to learn about music at Doane. Visitors will have the opportunity to attend a performance of our choir and band programs, and observe a sample music scholarship audition. Students interested in becoming a music teacher are encouraged to sign-up for our Music Education Forum, which launches Music Visit Day. For more information: www.doane.edu/visit
CARTHAGE COLLEGE WIND ORCHESTRA CONCERT
Sunday, October 28, 2018, 3:00 p.m.
The Carthage College Wind Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. James Ripley, will be stopping at Doane on their tour of the Midwest. The ensemble is known across the United States as a leader for commissioning new works for band. Join us in Heckman Auditorium for an afternoon of great wind music, including live musical soundtracks to short films by visionary director Georges Méliès, music from the children's opera "Der Mond" by Carl Orff, and a suite extracted from William Walton's "Façade."

This festive weekend is one of the most popular and anticipated music events on the Doane campus. The concert features the department's major student ensembles.
If the Christmas Festival was to sell out, all are welcome to attend the final dress rehearsal, Saturday, December 2, beginning at 9am. Tickets are not required for the final dress rehearsal.

Calling all junior and senior high school band students! Join the Doane Concert Band for an afternoon of music, food, and fun! Start the day with a pizza party, meet with members of the Concert Band for an open Q&A session about college life, and end the day with a rehearsal of Gustav Holst's Second Suite in F and John Mackey's Undertow.

DOANE VOCAL FESTIVAL GRAND CONCERT

This concert features 160 of the state's top vocalists from Nebraska's premier honor choir festival. Doane Choir and selected outstanding soloists also perform.

Jazz Unlimited, Doublewide and Jazz Band present an evening of popular music from a variety of genres and periods.
SPRING MUSIC CONCERT
BRAHMS: A GERMAN REQUIEM
The Doane Choir joins Abendmusik and the Nebraska Wesleyan University Choir in a performance of Johannes Brahms's Requiem conducted by Tom Trenney.
