June 2021

  • Advancement Office - Entire Department Staff

"I can't tell you how proud I am of the team of professionals that I get to work with every day.  During this difficult year, personal visits and travel were  virtually nonexistent, this team found a way to reach for our goals.  They found ways to engage alumni, family and friends, not in the same way but in new ways.  This team has "shown up," not always in person but rather in spirit every single day. The slogan "Teamwork makes the Dream Work" couldn't be more true with these teammates." - Marty Fye

  • Kerry Beezley

"Kerry is just amazing. She is so diligent and helps keep Doane's data records up to date. She even does it without too much complaining when I send her list after list of things that need to be changed. I really appreciate her and her work ethic." - Sandra Koll

  • Cali Biaggi

"Cali stepped up as the interim director of Perkins Library. She has done an amazing job during a stressful and unprecedented time. I have the greatest appreciation for everything she has done for us." - Holly Baber

  • Carol Bietz

"As I approach the two-month mark at Doane, I think maybe the "deer in the headlights" look is beginning to fade. All of my new co-workers have been very helpful and friendly. I appreciate everyone and I'm especially grateful for the patient and generous help I've received from Anne, Carol, Jenei and Josh with my many questions about Applicant Pro, Colleague, Kronos, and Doane University in general." - Sara Weixelman

"Carol has gone above and beyond as the HR department works to restructure and focus on employee strengths to get the work done efficiently.  She has stretched her knowledge by creating different reports and working through queries while other employees train in new areas.  Thank you for being acceptable to new job duties as we continue to train our team, Carol!" - Anne Ziola

  • Suzy Carter

"In addition to her faculty role, Suzy serves as Assessment Coordinator for the College of Business.  Her work is tremendously important as we prepare for ACBSP accreditation.  Suzy has a great understanding of assessment and the accreditation process.  She has provided full-time and adjunct faculty support and resources that are timely and relevant in making progress in these areas.  She has a great attitude and is always happy to serve.  We are grateful to have Suzy in the College of Business!" - Jennifer Bossard

  • Jared Cook

"Jared has been a great addition to the College of Business!  He has taken the lead with our undergraduate leadership programs this year and is continually finding ways to enhance the student experience.  He has collaborated with staff at Doane to make sure our curricular opportunities complement our co-curricular opportunities.  This summer, Jared will be working with the students and staff of Launch Leadership to find ways we can partner with that program.  I appreciate the enthusiasm and intentionality that Jared brings to all he does!" - Jennifer Bossard

  • Ryan Dorshorst

"When HR and the Alumni Office hosted "An Afternoon With Dr. Hughes" for Doane employees, we quickly noticed our participant count was sitting at 100 guests for several minutes without increasing. Panicking, I messaged Ryan and asked if he could adjust the number of attendees for the webinar. He fixed it within a minute or two, allowing more Doane employees to hear from our next president. I appreciate Ryan and his willingness to help this campus out no matter what. Thank you, Ryan!" - Michael Stehlik

  • Tessa Durham Brooks

"Tessa has represented Doane faculty on Faculty Council and in the Presidential search as an informed member and with great integrity.  Not only does she represent faculty she continues to search for methods to provide inclusivity in her courses for all students through her willingness to listen and learn.  She is a quintessential representation of the Doane Mission." - Jodie Green

  • Louisa Ehrlich

"I've spent the last month working closely with Louisa to help ensure that our international students were able to find an on-campus job during the summer. During this time I've been incredibly impressed by her drive & passion for helping our international students. It's obviously difficult to earn one's education in another country, but Louisa works very well to accommodate and make sure that our international students are taken care of. She truly has put our student's interests to heart. Way to go Louisa!" - Joshua Johnson

He has helped me with my relationship between the Athletics Department and the Business Office. Josh, Rocky Schmidt and Miranda Henderson have been great contact points whenever our department needs something. They always point us in the right direction. Since the beginning of the year Josh has been a great teammate in ensuring that I have coded all the receipts correctly for 26 different coaches (around 300 receipts per month!)" - Benjamin Berreckman

  • Lisa Wells

"In addition to all her responsibilities in the Academic Success Center, Lisa Wells is the co-coordinator for First Gen Forward, a NASPA initiative that recognizes higher education institutions with large percentages of first generation students.  For the May 2021 graduation, Lisa spearheaded dispersing graduation cords that honored all residential and non residential first gen undergraduates who walked at the May commencement. An email went out to all first gen students who were graduating to alert them about the cords and why they were receiving them. She handed out the cords to the Crete students the two weeks prior to graduation.  She greeted them with her famous smile and congratulated them enthusiastically for being the first to graduate in their family.  For the non res students, she bagged the cords, which included a motivational note. She got up early the day of graduation, went to the Field House and placed the cords on their chairs. Lisa always has been and always will be all about our Doane students." - Terese Francis
