Kayla A. Belden

Class of '12, Master of Education

Lincoln,  Kayla received the March Golden Apple Award from Channel 10/11.  Belden is a Special Education Teacher from Southeast High School.  She was nominated for her leadership and filling in when her department chair was out on medical leave, as well as her working through the challenges of remote learning.

Lincoln, Kurt has been promoted to elite sales manager at HUDL.

Anthony R. Dunn

Class of '12, College of Arts and Sciences

Bellevue,  Anthony will be the head baseball coach and a social studies teacher at Elkhorn North High School beginning in July of 2020.

Lincoln,  Keri is a counselor at Stepping Stones, a provider of behavioral health services  in Lincoln.

Dustin E. Schwartz

Class of '12, College of Arts and Sciences

Broken Bow, Dustin has established a new business, Computer All Around.  Computer All-Around offers consultations on finding the right computer, troubleshooting for computers and printers, installing indoor and outdoor Wifi, installing security systems and will customize their services based on the customer’s need.

Nikki Scism Piper

Class of '08, College of Arts and Sciences

Class of '12, Master of Education

Nikki and her spouse, Ben, welcomed their daughter, Maelee Margaret on July 8th.  She joins siblings Brynlee and Ryker.  Nikki is an Instructor of Practice in Education at Doane and is working toward her Ed.D.

Maureen Beck Halama

Class of '12, College of Arts and Sciences

Class of '17, Master of Education

Maureen Beck Halama  ’12, ’17E, Crete, was featured in the December 2019 issue of Band and Orchestra Magazine as one of the 50 Directors that Make a Difference.  Halama was recognized for her work at Fairbury Public Schools where she led the instrumental music program for concert and jazz band.  One music director from each of the 50 states was selected for their accomplishments leading school music programs. Halama is currently a K-12 vocal music instructor at Wilber-Clatonia Public Schools.

Jennifer R. Borer ’11, ’12E, Elkhorn, married Andrew Podraza on June 29, 2019.

R. Brock Mutcheson

Class of '12, Master of Education

R. Brock Mutcheson ’12E, Salem, Va., has been named assistant dean for assessment and program evaluation at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. In this role, Mutcheson will help oversee the further development of the school’s assessment and program evaluation initiatives and advise curriculum directors on assessment methodologies.
