Doane Faculty facilitate on campus courses to provide opportunities for class discussions and reflections on the Field Experiences and to assist in processing and intregration of learnings from several sources. Courses provide foundational teaching and learning knowledge and skills as well as systemic reality of PK-12 education.
Clinical Field Experiences
Students complete a minimum of 225 clock hours of clinical field experience prior to admission to student teaching. This field experience component is designed to engage pre-service teachers in teaching and learning experiences in PK-12 classrooms. These experiences can include lesson design and implementation, small group facilitation, and one-on-one instruction. Tese experiences are meant to allow the student an opportunity to build upon the classroom learning and apply that learning in an immediate and relevant setting.
