Through Doane University Alternative Breaks, students have the opportunity to develop into lifelong active citizens in local, national and global communities through diverse, direct-service experiences dedicated to social justice. Breaks occur over academic fall and spring breaks as well as National Days of Service. Alternative Break groups partner with nonprofit organizations working to combat a specific UN Sustainable Development Goal in their local area.
Alternative Weeklong BreaksAlternative Weekelong Breaks (AWB) occur during Fall and Spring Break for students to volunteer at nonprofits across the country.
